Little Hearts, Big Smiles
Dear Rollingwood Families,
February is here, and our classrooms are full of energy, creativity, and growing independence. It is amazing to see how much the children have learned and how confident they have become since the start of the school year. This month brings several meaningful celebrations, hands-on learning experiences, and opportunities to continue building the strong sense of community that makes our school so special.
We are looking forward to a month filled with milestones, friendship, and memorable moments.
100th Day of School
We are excited to celebrate the 100th Day of School on February 10th. This special milestone is a wonderful way for children to recognize how much they have learned and accomplished so far this year. Classrooms will take part in fun, age-appropriate activities centered around the number 100, helping build counting skills, creativity, and pride in their hard work. Be on the lookout for more details from your child’s teacher about how their class will celebrate.
Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day at Rollingwood is all about kindness and friendship. Classes will exchange valentines on February 13th.
Please send valentines for each child in your child’s class. Teachers ask that you do not address individual valentines. Simply sign your child’s name so they can easily pass them out on their own.
A reminder that several classrooms are nut free. Any food items must be unopened and in store-bought packaging.
If your child does not attend school that day, they will exchange valentines on Tuesday, February 17th.
Inclement Weather Reminders
Winter weather can be unpredictable. Please continue to check our website, Instagram, and ClassDojo for updates on delays or closures. An email will also be sent as soon as a decision is made. We generally follow the public school system’s closures at first, but we always assess conditions ourselves and aim to open when it is safe. The safety of our students, families, and staff is always our priority.
Summer Camp Is Coming
It may still feel like winter, but we are already planning an exciting summer at Rollingwood. Our Summer Camp will be packed with hands-on fun, outdoor adventures, and creative learning experiences. This year’s themes include Backyard Explorers, Messy Art and Water Fun, Little Chefs Week, and Farm Friends. Each week will be filled with engaging activities designed to spark curiosity, encourage teamwork, and make lasting summer memories.
Paper registration forms will be sent home this week in your child’s folder, so be sure to check backpacks carefully. Camp spots fill quickly each year, and we cannot wait for another fun-filled summer with our Rollingwood friends.
Cold Weather Reminder
We head outside throughout the winter whenever weather conditions allow, even if it is just for a short time to get some fresh air and movement on the playground. Please make sure your child comes to school with a warm coat each day. We also recommend keeping gloves or mittens and a beanie in your child’s backpack so they are comfortable during outdoor play. Labeling these items helps us return them if they get misplaced.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone warm and ready for outdoor fun.
