Autumn Adventures at Rollingwood Academy
A Wonderful October to Remember
October was full of fun and community spirit! From bright smiles on Picture Day to our field trip to the farm, the month was packed with learning and laughter. Our Book Character Parade brought stories to life in the most creative ways, and Trunk or Treat was such a hit, thank you to all the families who decorated cars, and joined in the fun. Your enthusiasm made it a memorable day for everyone!
As we welcome November, we’re filled with gratitude for our Rollingwood families and the joy your children bring to our classrooms each day. We look forward to a season of giving, celebration, and connection.
Veterans Day
On Tuesday, November 11th, Rollingwood Academy will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who have served and continue to serve our country. We are especially thankful for the military families who are part of our Rollingwood community. Your strength, sacrifice, and dedication inspire us every day. Throughout the month, our students will be learning about gratitude and what it means to honor those who protect our freedoms.
Cooler Weather Reminders
Fall has officially arrived, bringing crisp mornings and cooler afternoons. Please dress your child warmly for outdoor play, and send in a labeled bag with a hat and gloves to keep at school.
If you haven’t already, this is a great time to update your child’s change of clothes to ensure they’re season-appropriate.
Rollingwood Food Drive
This November, we’re excited to partner once again with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore for our annual school-wide food drive. Donations will be collected all month long, and every item helps make a difference for local families in need.
To add a little friendly competition, the class that donates the most items will win a special class party! Thank you for supporting this effort and helping our children experience the joy of giving back.
Thanksgiving Feast
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held on Friday, November 21st at 12:00 pm. This is a cherished Rollingwood tradition where our students come together to share a meal and celebrate gratitude.
Volunteer sign-ups for food donations will be available on ClassDojo. Tuesday/Thursday students are invited to join the feast with a parent—please plan to arrive together at 12:00 pm.
We’re so thankful for our wonderful families who help make this event so special each year!
Book Character Pumpkin Contest Winners
Congratulations to our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes for winning this year’s Book Character Pumpkin Contest! Their creativity and teamwork stood out, and they’ll be celebrating with a special ice cream party.
